Drag&Drop Helper is a new option for CopyPaste users. Drag&Drop Helper creates a bridge between the Clipboard and Drag and Drop. These are the two most main Mac OS technologies for exchanging data between programs. Drag&Drop Helper allows drags of clips from the CopyPaste Palette to any drag and drop aware application. You can create Clip files on the desktop of the Finder, or you can drag clips into programs (often useful for programs that do not support the Clipboard very well). With the Drag&Drop Helper program you can, for instance, drag pictures into a Photoshop document which otherwise does not make full use of the multiple Clipboards provided by CopyPaste.
It is a new experience being able to drag stuff from a program to the 100 clipboards and also dragging any of the 100 clips to an application. Very cool, very convenient!
Explanation
Once Drag&Drop Helper is installed it works in the background and serves as a host application which allows clips to be dragged from the CopyPaste Palette. This extra program is necessary because CopyPaste is an extension and dragging from an extension to the front application is not possible. That is all Drag&Drop Helper does at this time.
CopyPaste Drag&Drop Helper is not essential to CopyPaste and you don't have to install and use it if you don't want to drag items from the Palette. We recommend all CopyPaste users install and benefit from this addition.
Installation
Put the CopyPaste Drag&Drop Helper in the Startup Items folder in the System Folder. This means it will be opened automatically at each startup. You can launch or quit it manually like any application. Nothing more is necessary.
